The 1st on Chatham (1oC) community worships each Sunday at 9:45 & 11:05 at The Cary Theater at 112 E Chatham Street in the heart of Downtown Cary.
The 1st on Chatham services are contemporary worship with a bend towards ancient tradition and liturgy. The music largely is acoustic, intimate, and participatory, drawing from contemporary and ancient songwriting, in a modern, approachable venue.
Children & Youth
Children of all ages are welcome in the 1st on Chatham services, but the church is also well equipped with other, appropriate spaces for children to be in fellowship with their peers on Sunday morning. The Rock offers Nursery and Sunday School classes for children. Youth Ministry serves middle and high school students and the gathering for youth ministry begins at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall in our Main Building. Any FUMCC team member will be happy to escort you from the Cary Theater to the youth areas on the main campus. Click the links to learn more about those programs, and how to get your kids involved.
What to Expect
Expect to be greeted with a friendly face on the street and once you enter the doors of the theater. Many people show up early to grab a cup of coffee, and spend some time getting to know one another in the lobby. Our worship service has a relaxed and intimate feeling, yet steeped in the tradition of the church offering a mix of contemporary music and hymns, creeds, and regular communion. The service typically lasts one hour.
