MUSIC & MEMORY: CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Music & Memory is part of a national program focused on learning how those with Alzheimer’s and other debilitating illnesses can benefit from listening to personalized music. It is grounded in extensive neuroscience research about how our brains respond to music. It is being tested and proven in hundreds of long-term care facilities throughout the U.S. and Canada, and has provided therapeutic benefits for thousands of residents, clients, and staff. It is often a life-changing event for everyone involved. If you would like more information about Music & Memory please contact Anne Huffman at: firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-467-5429.
PC LAPTOPS NEEDED
The Sarah Circle is making some exciting changes to the seasonal Children’s Consignment Sale to improve the efficiency of the sale. As a result of these changes, the sale needs to purchase several laptop computers, but we want to be good stewards of the sale and would much prefer for proceeds of the sale to continue benefiting missions in the area rather than investing in equipment. If you have a functioning Windows laptop with Windows 7, 8, XP or Vista (not an Apple laptop) and would like to donate it to our sale, we would be THRILLED to accept your donation (and can provide you with a tax receipt). Please email email@example.com if you have a laptop that you’d like to donate to the sale.
POINTS WITH A PURPOSE
Join Health Ministry’s Points with a Purpose! We will begin a new challenge during Lent where we will focus on the importance of whole health as well as loving and serving others. Points With a Purpose is a point system-based challenge and can be done individually or in teams of 2-4. For example, you can accumulate points for 15 minute increments of exercise, choosing fruits and vegetables, sleep, random acts of kindness, donating canned food, prayer and devotion time, etc. We will also track our progress on our Facebook page, Be Oriented. Let’s have fun and work together to become healthier servants! Click here to sign up.
METHODIST CHILDREN’S CENTER
MCC is accepting applications for our 2016-2017 school year. Our program has classes for children 1-5 years of age. Contact Alicia Shelton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Church Library, located in room 224, is an excellent repository for books about Lent and Easter. Several books about forgiveness are also on the display shelf. Checkout procedures are posted on the desk. All are welcome to take advantage of the books and videos in the library. Just make your selection, check it out, and check it back in when you’re done. Happy reading!

On March 12 our church will be hosting a Stop Hunger Now event, organized by the Western Wake Hispanic Ministry Network (Apex UMC Fiesta Cristiana, White Plains-Luz del Pueblo and by First UMC Cary Hispanic Ministry.) The WWHM Network would like for you to join the movement to end hunger in our lifetime and help us reach our goal to package 10,152+ meals on March 12. Working together we can create a world without hunger. A little goes a long way! Please click here and make a donation for this event.
