Kairos Prison Ministry
From August 3 – 6, 2016, the North Carolina chapter of Kairos Prison Ministries International will conduct a mission weekend within NC Central Prison. Kairos of NC has been modeling Christ’s gospel to the incarcerated for more than twenty years, visiting weekly for prayer meetings, and conducting mission weekends every six months. In the past, First UMC Cary’s congregants have supported Kairos mission weekends by home-baking cookies, donating to defray the cost of home-cooked catered meals, committing to pray for Christ’s revelation, and by serving on mission teams. The Central Prison mission team prays that the Christ followers at First UMC Cary once again will assist the upcoming Kairos weekend. Cookies will be collected in the church kitchen on Sunday, July 31. Contact Lin Osborne (firstname.lastname@example.org) for Kairos Cookie Baking Guidelines, financial donation, and other information.
If you have ever felt led to sing in the Chancel Choir in the Sanctuary services, then you should consider singing in the Summer Choir during July.
Summer Choir will rehearse on July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. Rehearsal times are before the services each Sunday, beginning at 8:00, 9:20, and 10:40. We will sing easier music for the month, and there will be members of the choir there to help lead and support you.
To be a part of the Summer Choir, contact Kerry Johnston (email@example.com), Christy Farrior (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Patti Cook (email@example.com), and we will get you involved. We look forward to YOU singing in the Summer Choir!
Servants Helping Servants at The ROCK
Every summer, we offer our regular servants a break, so they can get renewed and refreshed and hopefully return to teaching at the ROCK in the fall. This leaves some gaps in our teaching schedule that we’d like YOUR help in filling! Please click HERE to sign up for a date or two – it’s the best thank you that can be given to those that serve tirelessly all year long, shepherding your child on their journey of faith.
Children’s Choirs Kick-off
