1st on Chatham Begins Second Sunday Service
For two years, the FUMCC 1st on Chatham (1oC) community has worshiped at 9:45, and we’re excited to tell you we’ve added a second 1oC worship opportunity at 11:05. The 1oC worship takes place in The Cary Theater, and is a contemporary service with a bend towards ancient tradition and liturgy. The music largely is acoustic, intimate, and participatory, drawing from contemporary and ancient songwriting, in a modern, approachable venue.
The 11:05 service is a great opportunity for families, couples, youth or individuals who attend/teach at the 9:45 Sunday School hours and those looking for a late morning service in the relaxed, intimate setting of The Cary Theater.
You’re welcome to come anytime, and we’d love to see you this Sunday at 11:05. You can park for the 1st on Chatham services in the FUMCC parking lots off Waldo Street, and care and classes for children of all ages is available for both services. If you have questions about the 1st on Chatham services, or would like more information, please email email@example.com or visit 1stOnChatham.com.
Stephen Ministry Training
Stephen Ministry has been a part of First UMC Cary for over 20 years. With a congregation of over 4,000 in number, we need a strong Stephen Ministry in order to support the needs of people who could use the presence of someone who cares. If you’re at a time in your life when you’re asking God, ‘What more can I do to serve you?’ and you are a caring person, please consider becoming a Stephen Minister. If you are interested in finding out more about our Stephen Ministry program, please email Bob Hight at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 919-656-3622, or email Chuckie Chinault at email@example.com or call 919-306-0460. GriefShare is a 13-week program designed to encourage healing by walking with others who are also grieving. Each week, different topics are addressed in relevant videos, with various individuals sharing their wisdom to promote healing. They share how they were able to find a “new normal” in their lives, filled with joy and hope for the future. If you have lost a loved one and are struggling with your grief, we encourage you attend GriefShare. There is a fee of $15 for the GriefShare workbook. If you are repeating the series and already have your workbook, there is no fee. We will meet Thursdays through December 15 at 7:00pm in room 125. Click here to sign up.
