The Church Council met on Thursday, February 2, 2017.
Linda Miller, Church Council Chair, opened our meeting by lighting the Christ candle. Mark Schneider, Lay Leader, offered the council a devotion. The council shared celebrations from each ministry area since December
The Council was then asked if any items from our Forward Thinking Goals needed to be lifted for further discussion or clarifying questions. Please click here for the Forward Thinking Goals.
Rev. Dr. Frazier presented our annual State of the Church (video is below). After the State of the Church the Council received updates from Evangelism, Finance, Trustees and the Building Committee.
- Adam Buchanan, Evangelism Chair, shared the vision and focus of Evangelism for the next three years. Click here for the presentation.
- Maureen Sawchak, Finance Chair, shared with the Council that we ended 2016 very strong. Our church reserves are 133% funded.
- Hal Belk, Trustees Chair, shared with the Council that Log Cabin repairs have been complete. The Trustees are in the process of evaluating the make up of our fleet. They expect to have completed their analysis in 2-3 months.
- Curtis Westbrook, Building Committee Chair, reported that we are in discussions with the Town regarding planning for required permits so that we can stay on schedule after the Building to Serve Capital Campaign. We will most likely be ready for a Charge Conference in late Spring, early Summer.
