Greetings families of the ROCK!
We are excited to share with you how we are engaging our children in the Building to Serve initiative over the next 4 weeks. We are called to share the heart of Christ from the heart of Cary, and our building is a tool to fulfill our mission today and in our tomorrows, so what does that mean to the youngest of us? We will be starting the conversation during large group time and are sending home take home sheets each Sunday morning to continue that as a family conversation about what it means to be a faithful steward of God’s gifts and how children can play a role, even at their age, in our community’s future. After all, they are the future! These take homes will highlight the scripture of the week, our theme, a challenge and some questions (which mirror the sermon series) to spark family dinnertime, bedtime or car time discussions. There’s even a place where they can jot down notes or their thoughts. The first week they’ll each receive a bank that can be used over the next month in conjunction with each week’s challenge. Children will have an opportunity to empty their banks each week in the big jar in Large Group to see how a few coins can add up when everyone makes a contribution. We are excited to see how God uses this time to teach us all something new about what it means to be a faithful steward of the gifts he has given each of us. We will post each week’s take home (Family Time Tip) here on the church website so you can catch up on any weeks you miss.
