Dec 10: “Born of the Virgin Mary” Luke 2:1-7
In the Apostles’ Creed we profess our faith:
(We believe) “In Jesus Christ his only Son
our Lord who was conceived
by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary….”
Throughout the centuries, Mary has received
much attention through various forms of
expression: art, music, literature, liturgies,
devotions, icons, and drama, etc. What is it
about Mary that makes her so important
to the Christian faith?
Dec 17: “Mary’s Moment”
In Luke’s account of the birth of Jesus,
there is an interesting verse.
“But Mary treasured all these words
and pondered them in her heart.”
What did Mary ponder in her heart
when she first held the baby Jesus?
We don’t know. We only know that it was
a holy moment. It was Mary’s moment.
Polly Green offers a dramatic monologue
as a reflection on what Mary may have
pondered in her heart when she held the
baby Jesus. Polly’s presentation will
give you a glimpse into Mary’s heart-
a heart that was humble, grateful,
worshipful, and surrendered.
