Our Elementary students are talking about Gratitude as a response to the character of God. This week we will talk about saying thank you.
What are creative ways to say thank you? Saying thank you doesn’t have to feel like a chore. Kids will discover all sorts of fun ways they can show gratitude to the people in their life.
We will take a look at a powerful story in Luke 17:11-19 about ten lepers who asked Jesus to be healed. But when their skin condition went away, they became so ecstatic about the miracle that they ran off and forgot to say, “thank you.” All except for one who came back.
Bottom Line: Say thank you. We want kids to become the sort of people who take the time to go out of their way to show gratitude towards others.
Please Note: This Sunday the 1st – 5th grades will be missing some friends that are singing in the Templeton and Asbury choirs. Immediately following their performance in the Sanctuary, the students will join their classes that will already be in session.
Our Preschoolers are still gathering all the ingredients for their “Recipe for Thanks”. Finding out all the things they are thankful for is a lot of fun!
We all need people to help us. We can be thankful for our family and friends and all the people in our community. Think about how many people help you each and every day. During week three, our preschoolers will hear the story of Naomi, Ruth and Boaz, and that story is full of people who help! Our preschool friends will also identify who the people are that help them each and every day.
