Come learn how you can help the families of children with serious health problems and we all may be feeling better soon. Having a child go through cancer or another life-threatening illness is a family’s worst nightmare. The emotional and financial stress can be devastating. Fortunately, in our area “Me Fine Foundation” is here to provide families with children at Duke Children’s Medical Center, UNC Children’s Hospital and WakeMed Children’s Hospital with the emotional and financial support they need at those critical times. Founded in 2004 by a family who had lost their two-year-old son to leukemia, “Me Fine Foundation” has provided support to more than 1,300 critically or terminally ill children and their families over the past 13 years. Their innovative efforts and programs help both the children and their families to deal with the ups and downs of these terrible illnesses. To find out more about this wonderful and uniquely named ministry, come join us on March 10 for a delicious breakfast, great fellowship and a very moving story how families and individuals have come together to help others in need.

ZOE Mission Trip, Working Group Updates and Thank You!!
A few weeks ago we learned that due to political unrest surrounding the upcoming elections in Zimbabwe, the in-country staff has advised us that there will not be any mission trips to their country in 2018, though trips to other countries where ZOE operates will still be taking place. Zimbabwe staff is already planning for two trips in 2019: April 24-May3 and July 31-August 9. If you have an interest in seeing this amazing program first hand, please contact Helen Papageorgiou at firstname.lastname@example.org or go to WeAreZoe.org.
On behalf of the orphans and vulnerable children, THANK YOU for all of your financial contributions, prayers and soup purchases. FUMCC has served as “angel investors” for just under2000 children over the last eight years, with nearly 600 children currently in the three year empowerment program. “Big” ZOE has 38,000 children in the program now plus 46,000 graduates. At a cost of $100 a year ($300 total) per child, it is one of the most effective anti-poverty programs in existence. If you would like to learn more about how one of our orphan led families has changed as a result of the ZOE program, click here.
Stay tuned for our upcoming Hope Grows project where you will have the opportunity get a $150 grant to do an Income Generating Project, just like the orphans do, and then turn in your proceeds to ZOE. Kick off date: April 29.
If you have lost a loved one and are struggling with your grief, we encourage you attend GriefShare. We meet Thursdays, from 6:30 to 8:30pm in room 125. Click here to register.

The History Committee has had some response to our request for help with producing a book celebrating out 150th anniversary in 2021. We still need some help from people who are interested in doing some research, then writing up their results. If you don’t want to write, but have memories you want to share, you should contact us. The success of the book depends on you. Please contact me at 919-467-0088 or email@example.com, or Timmons Player at Timmons@monkeyplayground.net if you can help. — Bob Warner, FUMCC Historian
