GriefShare Offers Hope and Healing
Thursdays through April 11, 2019, in room 125, from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
Grieving the loss of someone you love is one of the most painful events we face in life. The death of a close family member or dear friend can literally rock your world, leaving behind devastation in its wake. The pain and emptiness is expected. But it is the unforeseen pitfalls of grief that seem to be most overwhelming. As the numbness wears off and reality sinks in, your grief can take over – you may forget to pay bills, stop eating, or in some cases overeat to dull the pain, maybe even shutting yourself off from the world. These symptoms, along with other mental and physical signs are normal during the grieving process. Understanding those symptoms and surrounding yourself with supportive, loving people can be a tremendous help. GriefShare is a 13-week program designed to encourage healing by walking with others that are also grieving. Each week, different topics are addressed in relevant videos, with various individuals sharing their wisdom to promote healing. They share how they were able to find a “new normal” in their lives, filled with joy and hope for the future. If you have lost a loved one and are struggling with your grief, we encourage you attend GriefShare. There is a fee of $15 for the GriefShare workbook. If you are repeating the series and already have your workbook, there is no fee. View registration information here.
