On October 11th join us for a 6-week Parenting Study at 6:30 pm on Wednesday nights through November 15th, 2017, Parenting Beyond Your Capacity.
In Parenting Beyond Your Capacity, Reggie Joiner and Carey Nieuwhof help parents discover a “bigger story” in which to involve their family, one in which multiple influential voices combine in order to tell kids the same thing: that a relationship with God really matters.
Parenting Beyond Your Capacity can help parents establish a lifestyle in which they:
- Invite others to invest in their children to help shape and determine the direction of their lives.
- Create a culture of unconditional love to fuel the emotional and moral health of their children.
- Tap into the power of quality moments together, building a sense of purpose through everyday experiences.
All children of our church and our community are invited to join us for an evening of trick or treating and games!!
A hot dog dinner will be provided free of charge during the event.
All ages are welcome to decorate cars – families, Sunday School classes, mission teams, etc.
Anyone providing a trunk or treat vehicle is invited to park as early as 2:30pm to decorate the vehicle and be ready to hand out peanut-free candy/snacks or small prizes to trick-or-treaters from 5:00-7:00pm. You can also donate food and prizes (peanut-free candy, pencils, bubbles, glow sticks, etc.).
Please drop off all donations in the church office by Wednesday, October 25th.
To decorate a car, donate candy, help with hot dogs or parking cars, please click here to register so that we can be prepared for the evening.

The Family Ministry Team’s (1st Families) mission is shepherding families into a lifelong journey of discipleship. As such, we are excited to kick off the Parent Ministry, (1st Parents) whose mission is supporting and equipping parents for the journey.
Our keynote speaker, Chris Sasser, is the Pastor of Family Ministries at Port City Church in Wilmington, NC and Associate with Ministry Architects, a kingdom building ministry advising group. Chris has a passion for helping people discover God’s love for them and for building leaders in the church.
As Chris will discuss with us, when we talk with young adults we can often hear their pain. Even though our children and youth have lived a relatively short life, a lot has happened to them. Through their childhood and teenage years experiences and relationships have shaped what they think and who they are. Because of their experiences, bags have been packed and we have all struggled to know how to help them navigate life in a healthier and more Christ-like way. What if, as a parent, we knew what the most common bags were? What if our children and youth could get to their young adult years and NOT have so much of the baggage that weighs us down so heavily? Join us on Saturday, September 30th at 6:30 pm , here in the church, in Room 200 as we launch “1st Parents” and start a new conversation on what we need to do to help our kids “drop those bags.”
Please register HERE by September 27th. A light dinner for adults will be provided at the kick off, but please feed your children at home, as there will only be snacks available for the kids. Looking forward to seeing you there!
