Our mission is to shepherd children in experiencing their life-long journey with Jesus Christ!
Sunday mornings you will be greeted by a ROCK servant in the lobby of the Children’s ministry area and asked to check-in your birth to 5th grade child prior to walking them to their classroom. You will use the automated system to check in your child and print a nametag with a security number on it and you will keep the corresponding security number during the service. At the end of the service, to ensure your child’s safety, we will collect your security number and check your child’s label to make sure they match before sending them home with you.
What’s Going On
At the ROCK, we find inspiring ways to connect young children to Jesus. We follow a large group/small group model for teaching. Children start their morning with a visit to large group with their class where the Bible is taught creatively and is child-targeted, relevant and fun! The second half of the hour is spent in age based small groups where relationship and community are built and children begin to see the application of the Bible truth to everyday life.
First UMC Cary values your child’s safety. Before joining the ROCK, every servant undergoes training and lead servants undergo a background check by an established company. Feel free to check out a copy of our Safe Sanctuary Policy here.
Learn what it’s like by listening to this short mission moment from the Hand family, where they share what the ROCK means to them…hint: it’s more than Sunday morning!
