Healthy New Year – Notes from January 13 UMM Breakfast,
Dr. Jay Stevens founder of Carolina Family Practice and Sports Medicine and head team medical physician for the Carolina Hurricanes, shared some very helpful health and fitness information with us during our January Breakfast. This information was designed to help us eat healthier and exercise more effectively.
The talk and the following question and answer session was very well received. Dr. Stevens was also gracious enough to all us to share his slides as reference. To view the slides from his presentation “Optimizing Health Wellness and Longevity” click here.
Hurricane Matthew Relief Trips
The United Methodist Men ware continuing to lead work teams to areas damaged by Hurricane Matthew on Saturdays during most months. There is a tremendous amount of work still to be done as many families are still living in motels or with friends until their homes can be repaired.
The single day trips are a lot of fun and you really will accomplish a great deal toward helping our neighbors in eastern North Carolina to get back in their homes. The team is open to men, women and older youth. Please contact Rick Kibler for more details and to sign up. He can be reached at 919-467-0046 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you want to get more out of your church? The Methodist Men can help you. As different men have different needs, interests, schedules and talents, we want to be able to help the individual men of the church be involved and connected with activities and opportunities and groups that fit them.
So we’ve developed a short, online survey soon that will help us communicate with you about activities, service opportunities and groups at the church that may be of specific interest to you. We will also use this information to plan activities and different functions that will be of interest to the men of the church.
How can you help us? Take the survey, here are 3 easy ways to take it.
1) Click here and you can take it right now.
2) If you would prefer a paper survey, contact David Crittenden at email@example.com or 919.880.5902
Monthly UMM Breakfast Meetings
The UMMen sponsor a monthly breakfast (second Saturday of each month at 8:00-9:30 a.m.) that is held in the Fellowship Hall. It is open to all persons, men and women. To register, click here.
On September 11, over 100 golfers enjoyed a great day of golf, fellowship and fun while supporting a variety of worthwhile programs and services of the United Methodist Men of First United Methodist Church Cary and the USO of North Carolina. The Methodist Men would like to think all sponsors, players and volunteers who made the Tee Up Fore Charities such a successful event. This is a wonderful way to help the men of FUMC aid those less fortunate and to support the work of the USO serving our troops and their families.
