A story that foreshadows the resurrection of Christ, Jesus restores the life of Lazarus, a dear childhood friend. However, it didn’t happen immediately. Martha and Mary, the sisters of Lazarus, had called for Jesus to come as he was dying. Jesus took four days to get there. Both women were desperate and devastated when Jesus arrived. Even knowing what the outcome would be, Jesus wept alongside the women at the grave. As we come to know Jesus’ own resurrection, may we reflect on the power of Christ’s presence in our lives.
