The fruit does not grow without the stability of the vine, and the vine does not grow without the steadfastness of the vinegrower. There are so many layers to our relationship with God, discipleship within the world, and friendship with one another. Throughout this story, Jesus clearly claims that all of our relationships are rooted in our ability to abide in God’s goodness. As we continue to learn about who Jesus is, may we grow too in our willingness to see who we are becoming through Christ’s presence. May we abide in Christ as Christ abides in us.
