Mary Magdalene (Easter Sunday)

On the third day, Mary Magdalene goes to the grave searching for Jesus. What she expects is far from what she finds. The boulder in front of the tomb has shifted and the body is no longer there to prepare. Everything points to Jesus’ promise and prophecy, and yet, Mary Magdalene continues searching. That is, until she is preaching. Right in front of her is the gardener, the creator and sustainer of life abundant, Christ himself. “I have seen the Lord,” she says. In the days of searching and seeking, may we too preach the Good News of the Gospel. For we are here. We have seen the Lord.
