Dedicated, and still has doubts. Peter stands beside Jesus as he encounters the rally of religious leaders at his arrest. “We need Jesus of Nazareth,” and Christ responds, “I am he.” Everyone falls down, and the moment where Jesus meets the mob turns into another miracle. Whether it be fear, doubt, or grief, Peter lapses in judgment, cutting off the ear of Malchus, the servant of the high priest.

Whether we are part of the mob out of pride, the one who lapses in doubt, or the one who grieves injustice – Christ holds near to prophecy and true to promise. He will drink from the cup his Father gave him.
