The Dawn is Breaking

What does it mean to struggle with both man and God? Jacob finds himself journeying with his family and all that he owns, crossing the Jabbok River’s shallow water. Along the journey, he separated from his family and wrestled with someone through the darkness of the night. When dawn was breaking, light shining through the darkness, God blesses Jacob there for his persistence amidst the journey. Jacob names the place Peniel, because he has seen God face-to-face. God’s presence is breaking through for Jacob, and for us too.
